Love those colors Codebreaker. I think this is a good image to mix color and black and white.
Having said that I have a million pics of those purple flowers and the, um, interesting insect. (Of course it's not just a fly, why would anyone shoot a housefly - much less a dead housefly? Oops was that my outside typing?) Ok - you got me - my eyesight's horrible and I thought it was a bee flitting from pretty flower to flower, merrily picking up pollen for the Queen, but in fact it turned out to be a fly, reports of whose demise had not been greatly exaggerated. Anyway - I have loads of purple flowered pics so I went the black and white route again this week...

I used the Matt K's lomo preset, lightened the flower so that it appeared to have been white. Bit of vignetting and sharpening. Don't like what it did to the center of the flower but ordinarily I'd fix that in PS.

Great story to go with your picture, Nicole! Your adjustments are really nice too. Excellent color tones for a housefly ummmm BEE!
