Sometimes I feel like a real doofus because it seems I can't figure out even where things are on the website nevermind mastering Elements. I keep reading references to the challenges but I can't seem to find them :? :?
I saw the title "Photo Assignment #8" but can't find the assignment unless it is Will's posting for a box. Is it that simple? Please tell me it is tucked away somewhere I can't find and it isn't that simple statement because I don't want to feel that dim-witted.
To further impressions of my simpleness I have to say that except for the "Learning Tools" list & the gallery I'm not sure what else is available to me as a subscriber. I am very happy with the resources these present but I certainly want to access everything offered. Of course the biggest resource is the forums. I don't know what I would do without all of you. :D

Michael yes the challenge for this week is a photograph of a box. Open to interpretation. You can crop the photo, adjust colour, but basically it's supposed to be your 'best shot" without any manipulations or additions to it. It's just for fun and it's to get everyone out shooting pictures. It's also a lot of fun to see everyone's interpretation of the project.
Will lists it every Sunday and we have a week to do our assignment. There is a separate thread for comments on anyone's work.
There is also another Challenge done by Grant but for some reason he hasn't been posting them under the challenge heading (hey Grant, can you start posting them there, because every Thursday night I'm not sure where to start looking!)
Here's a link to his site
http://www.cavesofice.org/~grant/Challenge/index.html
This one is a lot of fun and it's all about photo manipulation. Check out this week and last week's entries. Grant adds the new picture every Thursday night, and again, it's on there for a week.
If you are a member, then the PET team also have a mask challenge going which has to be done by Thurs. You can see it listed on the subscriber home page.
Good luck. There is always lots to do around here to keep you busy and learning!!

Michael ...
Have you found your way to the Videos and the Tutorials in the Subscriber area ?
Some people seem to miss the link ... it does take some finding. Click on Subsrciber area at the top of this page ... then scroll down the screen until you see tutorials, videos etc on the left hand side. There are lots of Video tutorials in there ... over 60 the last time I counted :)

Wendy-
I did find the learning tools area and although I've only looked at two of the videos I'm very excited about them. I also keep coming soooo close to signing up for one of the courses but then stop short because I'm trying to figure out how to build the time into my schedule first. I know I want to it's just that I want to make sure I have the time set aside so I can get the most out of them that I can. Hopefully I can make that time soon. I'm really hoping they will stir up some creative juices that I haven't had before. I look at the work so many of you do and am just amazed at how creative everyone is. Except for my sheep picture in my gallery I really don't have the same degree of creativity everyone else seems too. But, I'm going to learn as much as i can and see what happens. If nothing else I'll just have fun. :D

Hi Michael ...
The online classes really are good and they don't take up too much time as each video is only 5 minutes ... but there is a whole lot of information packed into thise 5 minutes :)
As far as being creative is concerned you tend to find that the more tutorials you do then the more ideas you get about different ways to use Elements ... and that in itself helps you create things :)
