My PE 3, surprisingly, works great with Vista, albeit with a few quirks:
Mouse cursor position is off slightly, which impacts the precision of the tools.
Scrolling leaves horizontal artifacts, so the scrolled image is useless until refreshed.
Auto-scrolling, when you drag something off the canvas, is so fast that it is uncontrollable.

So I am looking to upgrade my PE. With the postings here of problems with Vista and PE 6, I wonder if PE 5 would be a better upgrade. WDYT?

Also, do PE 5 and PE 6 solve the PE 3 issues that I listed?

David,

Microsoft is getting ready to release a final version of Service Pack 1 for Vista. I would guess it may solve some of the problems people have had with PSE 6 and Vista in general.

You can read about it here (http://www.winsupersite.com/faq/vista_sp1.asp).

I have PSE 6 on my computer running Vista. I haven't had any problems at all. I did have PSE 4 before 6 and I was having all kinds of problems and was told that PSE 4 wasn't compatible with Vista. So, who knows! I am finally satisfied with Vista. I've had it a year now and had all kinds of problems for the first 7 or 8 months, but I think their updates have solved a lot of problems. Now I'm hoping Service Pack 1 will really iron out everything.
