Fill Value

I am following a tutorial on making Text Transparent. To quote " Lower the Fill Value down to 0%. Fill option is found below the Opacity value option in the top right corner of the Layers palette".
I cant find this - probably because the tutorial was written for CS (maybe) and I am using 5.0. Is there an alternative to this. When I use the opacity I then cannot put the outer glow around the lettering.
