I'm totally confused. When I open several files, the last one is shown in the viewing area. In 5.0 to view the other photos in the photo bin, you just clicked on them, or to add them to the existing photo, you just dragged them up to the open photo.
I figured out that you double click on the photo in the photo bin and it opens that photo in the viewing area, ~~~ but ~~~~
1. if it is a png file, the transparency is gone and it shows up with a background.
2. If you try and use the background eraser to get rid of the background, you get a message saying something about being a frame and having to simplify it. I don't understand at all, is there a preference I need to select to be able to have 6.0 work like 5.0 when editing.
So far, 6.0 is pretty nice, except for the dark gray which puts a strain on older eyes.
TIA

Some people are very, very unhappy with the changes. I'm getting used to it now.

If you want to add something from the photo bin to the document on the work space, you need to go into tile or cascade mode and either copy/paste or drag/drop from one to the other. If you pull up from the bin (such as in v5) you get a frame layer (noted by the + sign on the layer). To make it operative, you need to simplify or rasterize it.

Otherwise, you can pull the item from the workspace down to the document in the photo bin!

There are other changes you will run into as you move along with your relearning of this version. One is the palette bin on the right side. It is either open or closed...nothing inbetween as in prior versions.

Good luck, and ask questions here if you need to. Someone will jump in and answer them.

Glad to know it isn't just me. I've always said it takes 5 times as long to unlearn something as to learn it, so the work is head of me - gotta unlearn some things. Besides the things you've mentioned, are there any more suprises ahead that i need to know about?
I guess if you are getting used to it, I can too. Thank you so much for your quick response. You are greatly appreciated.

Turn off your red-eye correction....several places for it. I've had black dots on red lips while one eye is corrected and not the other!

Do a search here to find out much better ways to correct red-eye~~

I'll come up with some others soon, I'm sure!:p
