Kathy,
If you "Save For Web", you can change your image type to GIF, and enable animation. You can select "loop" so that it keeps going, and also select the delay between frames.
When you save it and then open it in your browser or image viewer, you'll have an animation.

Doug,
When I take a multi-layer document into Save-For-Web, and then select GIF as the file type, "Transparency" comes up selected by default. I am able to clear the selection of Transparency, and then click to select "Animate".
The only thing I can find that will make my "Animate" selection unavailable is to not have a multi-layer document in the first place.
Are you beginning with more than one layer?

Byron,
I was trying to follow your instructions, but had only opened a single layer. Thanks for your reply.
