Any body have experience with Elements 5 in Vista?

Have tried without success to install "Pixel Creator Pro" Collage Template Pack - Volume 1.

Files are not apparently installing in location that Elements 5 can see them. Any suggestions? Which location should template files be in?

Thanks

I looked at the web page for Pixel Creator Pro, http://www.pixelcreatorpro.com/
and I didn't see any indication that it is compatible with PSE. Photoshop yes, but not elements. Certainly looks like a good product, though.

When you go to the Pixel Creator Pro website, on the left side of the screen you can select Elements from the list. When you select same, the Collage Templates package states that it is compatable with 'Elements 5' only.

However, when I downloaded and installed same, I should be able to select 'CREATE', 'PHOTO LAYOUT', 'PIXEL CREATOR PRO' and select from list of templates visible. Unfortunately, they do not show up in window to allow selection (nor do 'THEMES' in lower window).

Pixel Creator Pro author feels it is Vista causing problem by storing files differently than XP.

I can open template in manner that is far more inconvenient than flipping menu windows but would really like to get it working as designed. files are in '.psd' format and am at a loss as to where Elements 5 should hae them stored. Author is trying to come up with solution as well.

Just wondering if you were able to get this software to work. If so, is it worth purchasing.

I like to use the custom layouts in PSE5.0 but you are very limited as to the layouts. Would love to create my own ?? on how.

Does Pixel Creator allow you to drop photos into the templates/layouts?

Thanks

I figured out how to install PCP Collage for PSE5 under Vista.

The templates are installed in Windows XP under the directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\photo layouts\

In Vista, there is a hidden directory, "ProgramData". You must go to Folder Options in Control Panel, check the "show hidden folder", then you will see the "ProgramData" folder. Copy the Pixel Creator template files into this destination C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\photo layouts\Restart PSE5 and you will see the new templates.

Working with PSE 5 and Vista, I have to date managed to find 'a work around' that lets me use the templates that is not as convenient as having them available from the drop down menu.

With the template, one can select the area in which you want to place the picture, resize or move it to get the best composition or change to another picture if you wish. Then move to another area and repeat. Templates are provided for various sizes with different layouts. for example in the 8 by 10 size, there are two layouts for 10 images, two for 11 images, 12 images, 13 images, 14 images and 15 images. All of which you can rotate or flip as desired. Themes can also be applied.

As for creating you own - if you like to prove you can do it, then do it but in my case, why re-invite the wheel. Is it worth the price, yes (I am a customer and am not representing the company) and I do hope that I can solve the file location problem that I seem to have.

If you haven't already done so, check out their website but be sure to look for elements in sidebar.
