View Full Version : Removing Develop Presets?

I have a whole bunch of LR presets that I want to get rid of. It seems that deleting them from the containing folders doesn't make them disappear them from the preset panel in LR. You can't multi-select in the preset panel so do I have to delete them one-by-one? That'll keep me from downloading presets willy-nilly in the future...

I don't see a way to select a few at a time, might have to do it the slow way...one at a time:(

I was afraid of that! Why oh why did I download this set of presets with cute rather than descriptive names? Presets should definitely be given a name which gives some indication what it will do. What a bother...

I'm not sure how you folks installed the presets but when you make your own LR places it in a folder named something like this...

C:\Documents and Settings\Colin\Application Data\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\User Presets

If you delete them from there then they delete from the LR GUI. Well it did for me. :)

Hi Colin,

I had removed them from the location they'd been installed to and even emptied the recycle bin. They were still in LR. But your suggestion caused me to search my system and to see if they were anywhere else. Bingo! They'd been saved as part of regular LR backups and the program was finding them in the backup location on a different drive. Deleting them from the backup location does the trick.
