After reading all the comments on PSE 4, I've decided to stick with PSE 3. I'm very disappointed to say the least...

I had considered Paint Shop Pro X, (Corel), however, I'm not impressed with that software either.

The definite plus to PSE 2, 3, and 4 is the fact that there are substantial tutorials available here, and outstanding forum support from other users, (Wendy, etc...)

Corel can't even match the above comments in regards to this site.

I'm staying with Adobe and PSE 3.

Rookie, I agree with you. While you might not be interested in PSE4, 3 is great and there is no comparison with Corel. (sadly for them they could learn a few things from this site). I have corel painter and I'm struggling on my own and with some help from books, but find I generally don't spend time with the program because I'm too busy here. It makes the world of difference to have a little community of helpers to assist you. Not only does it make learning fun but your progress is far greated I think because of it.

I'm on your side too rookie. I have Paintshop Pro 9 and went to their website to read the feedback about their new version. I went into their forum, and what I read was mostly disappointment. I think both Adobe & Coral let their users down. I don't know what I'm expecting from Adobe, so I really can't complain, it's just that their wasn't many new features worth mentioning. I suppose if you didn't own PSE3, PSE4 would be a good program, but I don't think it's a replacement for PSE3.

They sure did! I'm really disappointed with both Adobe and Corel. PSP 9 was nice, but PSP X just went downhill.

Same with Adobe PSE4. I expected more. The tools don't work well, etc. What a BIG disappointment!

Someone over at Adobe, WAKE UP! You're NOT giving your loyal customers what they want and expect from your software!
