unable to locate component

Hi This may not be where i ask this question if not please let me know. I have this error message that pops up once in ahile. Apolication has failed to start because COM.API.Dll was not found. Re-installing Application may fix problem.

I have re-install pse6 and 4 serveral times but still have error message pop up. I don't see anything wrong with the program itself when I am using it?? Has anyone had this roblem?

How do I get from the standard edit screen to the organizer?

Obviously, you've figured out I don't use my Organizer.

I want to turn off the "auto launch" as suggested in those tech notes, but it says to do it from the Organizer.

organizer is the button at top right above the edit button.

I went to the web site and found it very easy to use. Knowing absolutely nothing about tech stuff. Instruction was very clear and even had reason for the trouble. I usually will not attempt anything technical usually call my son to fix it. I did it myself with no problem.

Thanks Carol - I'm not sure PSE4 has it there - at least I couldn't see it :confused:
- but what I did was go to Quick Fix and then Browse Photos was available and that opened the Organizer. I was able to unclick the "auto launch" from the edit preferences menu.

I think you're right Janice, the separate "Organizer" tab didn't come along till PE6.

It was there in PSE4 but back in those days the Organizer was still called the Photo Browser (at least that's what the tab said)
