Creating a brush.

I am trying to create a brush in Elements 6 - when I choose my selection and go to edit, the define brush item is grayed out and I am uanble to use it, but I can create a pattern? What am I doing wrong?:confused:

chances are your document is too big.

make a new document around 2000x 2000 pixels, drag your layer from the other one into the new one and give that a try.
