Services disconnect?

I have read somewhere, but cannot find it on this forum, that you can speed up the opening of PSE3 in WindowsXP home. They said to open control panel and performance and maintenance and administrative tools. Select services and disconnect the two Photoshop entries. Has anyone tried this and if so does it mess up anything? Your help will be appreciated.

I did it in the very beginning days of having the program and it did not mess anything up. You just lose the options...but the program loads faster. I never use Organizer so it was good for me.
