Hi I am a new user of photo shop elements 4.0 I have played around a little with 2.0 As you all can see I am very limited with what I know and how to do most things. What I would like to do is to cut certain objects or people from a picture. I have looked forever and cannot figure out how to do this in either of the versions I have. Sorry to be so dumb but is there a way to do this and can someone tell me how?
thanks
Sue

hi Sue ...
... and welcome to the forum :)
Now I'm not quite sure if you mean that you want to select someone from an image and put them into another image or if you have an image and you want to take one of the people out of it and make the image look as though they were never there ...?
If its the first one then:
You need to use one of the selection tools (say the lasso) to carefully go round the outline of the person and once you have done that you just need to do Edit>Copy then Edit>Paste and there you have them on their own layer. If you then want to put them into another image you just need to do Edit>Paste in the new image.
If its the second one then:
Use the clone tool and clone over the person ... choose an area of the background that is suitable to cover them and clone them away :)
Hope this helps ...

Sue ...
... You are not dumb !!
We all tend to feel this way when we start using Elements ... ask as many questions as you like. It really is no problem to talk you through things .. so if you get stuck just ask again :)
... and most of all don't worry about it !! ... you will get there :)

Hi Sue
Welcome to the forums.
As Wendy said... ask away. We all started not knowing things and we all learn new things all the time. There is usually someone around to help and responses are normally quick. We are all just users like yourself.. just some have been using longer.

Hi George ...
Its called Border Breakout ... go to the Subscriber area scroll down and you will see Vidoes on the left hand side. Click on that then the screen will show two rows of Videos ...
Border breakout is on the left hand side ... quite a way down and has a date 26th August.
Hope you find it this time :)
