The purpose of this weekly challenge is to encourage creative experimentation with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. All Lightroom users are welcome to join in and for those who don't have Lightroom but wish to play, here (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/) is the link to the 30-day trial version.

Please make any adjustments you choose to the following image and post your results in this thread. Share how you processed the image and provide information on any develop presets used. All modifications on the image must be made in Lightroom with the exception of sharpening, noise reduction, and resizing. Matt Kloskowski's Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips (http://www.lightroomkillertips.com/) is a great source for Lightroom Develop presets.

How about some snow...

Pat, This is really a great image. If you look at the histograhm in Lightroom it is almost perfectly exposed. I'd be interested in how you nailed that exposure with difficult lighting and the snow.

I generally work my way down the develope module to get what I like and sometimes I go back up to tweak something or another.
I started out by adding a little warmth by adjusting the white balance to around 5900. I know that I added about .25 to the exposure slider and added saturation and contrast. In the Tone curve I adjusted it to be a typical slight "S". I then Cropped ever so slightly to be in more with the classical rule of thirds. I then exported the image to PSE-4 and added one of my favorite frames.
Eddie:)

Thanks, Pat, for letting me play with this. I love this image. We haven't made it to the cottage yet this winter and this made me feel I was there!

I only tweaked it a bit - boosted clarity and vibrance and adjusted the tone curve slightly to up the lights and darken the shadows. Also cloned out 3 spots in the sky (melted snowflakes on the lens?). I think the straightening I did was ill advised. :p

I tried a couple versions of black and white and they were nice too. Maybe someone else will have a go at that...

OK, these are getting tougher by the week. A lot of clarity adjustments, then went right to split toning to make the trees green.

Played with it in black and white and finally went to split-toning the shadows and highlites with brown and yellow. Yuk - don't care for it at all but that's all the time I have to spend. Prefer the natural interpretations...
