Birth - At Last

I have had this cattleya for about 4 years and this is the first blossom it has seen fit to produce. I guess it was well worth the wait.

Ron, your orchids are always beautiful. How do you get the black background that sets them off so well?
I was "into" orchids for a few years. Went crazy. Even went to the orchid show in NYC.But I can't afford to keep my greenhouse a tropical temperature so I only have two remaining. One does beautifully in the cool but I forgot it's name. When it blooms this spring I'll send you a picture. I think it is an Epidendrum. If you tell me how to get the black background, I might be able to get a picture that sets them off.
