Hi All,
After all that setting up yesterday with wireless and new iMac--I noticed last night I had one dead black pixel!! Right in the middle of the screen-a couple of inches from the center:eek::eek: I just couldn't live with it--It would have made me CRAZY!! Brought it back today and they saw it and returned right then. They were so nice at the apple store..
Wouldn't that have driving you guys crazy or is that just me being "me":(

No doubt about it, I would have done the same. Heck, even if it was on the very margin and I had to look for the defect I would take it back.
You did the right thing and I am glad they did not give you a hard time.

Thanks so much--I thought they were going to think I was insane but they did totally agree. Now I am setting up the new one again and ofcourse I can't get that email to work correctly. Even the wireless router is working sooo slow- now off to call linksys and apple again!!

You have 90 days free help from Apple. Just have your Serial # when you call.
They will help you setting up and answer other questions you may have.
I hope you registered the iMac.

Everything is now up and running! I can't believe that I had to repeat everything I did yesterday all ever again today. I am so exhausted. All registered.
Wendy If they didn't return the dead pixel computer-I would have named her Pixie!!!! :)
Thanks everyone for all your support.

You're very lucky they changed it. LCD screens have a tolerance that limits the number of dead pixels or sub pixels. Unless they declared it to have Zero Defects then sometimes you just have to live with it.

Couldn't agree more, Wendy. My laptop screen developed a bleeding crack and on it's own-I didn't drop it or sit on it or anything:D. When I took it to the Apple Store the guy looked it over, told me that it was clear to him that there had been no "trauma", and they did the repair for free. I love Apple tech support. I was on the phone with them yesterday-and had to call back a few hours later and for the first time in years of using Apple products, I got the same guy-it was funny.
