No not in PSE, at that fast food giant that always gets my order wrong (no matter how simple) and can't make change without a computer. Gosh I am getting to be an old curmudgeon aren't I?
They are also serving chesseburguers and caesear salads too. Is anyone else seeing these sort of things more and more or is it me?

PS if you work at or own a McDonald's I am sure your's is run properly and not at all like our local franchise. See, not only am I a curmudgeon, I am a cowardly one.

My kids are French immersion students and they have studied in their second language since kindergarten. In the early years, parents of these students are often dismayed to see the spellings their kids come up with in English as a result of mixing up the rules of the two languages. Maybe your McDonald's employee is a transplant from up here? :D

Hi Julie,

Could be, I know they spelled French fries right;). Seriously though in the scheme of things occurrences like this don't matter one bit and probably says more about me than anything. So why does it bug me? (hmm slow news day)

Maybe it's an Illinois thing because it bugs the crap out of me too. There was a time when kids DID have to know how to spell to pass a grade.

Thanks Nancy I feel better already. I was just thinking how hard would it be to incorporate a spell checker on those electronic signs?
Sorry to eat up bandwidth but I can's afford a shrink and needed to vent somehow I suppose.

Thanks,
Don

Don, they could install a spell checker, but then they would have to pass the cost on to their customers...

LOL on "Illinois thing".

It's not just spelling...it's common sense. While waiting in line for a diet coke at a local Burger King, I witnessed a young employee looking puzzled because something he was trying to grill/broil wouldn't fit into the oven. Whatever these things were, they were piled up about 6" high on this big tray...yet from my vantage point, I could CLEARLY see that the slot for the tray was only about 2" high. HELLO??? But maybe the kid could spell so they hired him anyway. :D:D

It's plain and simple, you and I are from the old school, where spelling was important! We can spot spelling mistakes, without really looking for them! And it irritates the hell out of me that people are so complacent about spelling!!!

(Sure hope I spelled everything correctly!!!)
