Hi Everyone--
I have been a PC user forever...never, ever used a mac.
A friend of mine went to the apple store a couple of nights ago and came by my work yesterday and surprised me with a new imac too. :)
He figured since he new nothing about them either we could help each other so he got me one also!!!! What a surprise!!!
I am sure I'll be asking everyone for help but I will be keeping both computers going.
I am in the process of taking it out of the box now...It is so pretty!!!
I guess my first program for purchase soon will be Elements 6. I also purchased about 6 mounths ago CS3 for pc so I guess when they have the deal again I'll have to get it for mac.
Thanks for listening......

Does your friend need another friend? :D:D
I am very envious - I'd love to make the transition to the world of Macs. Maybe when my laptops goes I'll take the plunge...
Have fun!

Jancy, you'll get to love your mac as others have. Why not ask Adobe to switch your CS3 pc for the mac version. I'm pretty sure that you will be giving up your pc for the mac fairly soon.
Enjoy your new iMac.

Wow - what a friend! How exciting for you. Our household is giving consideration to the big switch too. I'll be interested in hearing about your experiences along the learning curve.

Hi Jancy ...
Congratualtions on your new iMac, they are so cute ... and what a good friend to get you that :)
Adobe will do a cross platform switch for you ... if you ring them and say you have switched to a Mac they will send you a Mac version (just costs a few dollars ... I think the last person to do it was charged $6)
Maybe worth waiting for PSE6 to come out in March as you donlt want to end up with PSE4 ..

Wendy - that is great info to have. Upgrading CS3 is why I stopped my husband from going wild in the Apple store at Christmas - he'd already loaded up the iPhones was seriously checking out the MacBooks. Now he's glad he waited because he's seriously enamored with that envelope thin model. :D

Thank you everyone It really is very pretty! What a learning curve! It is just so different. The iphoto is fun and I'll be able to chat with my friend tonight on the video! It's up and running wireless.
Well I actually am going to still use my PC so I am thinking of keeping CS3 for that and If and when they have the deal again I will buy one for mac. I don't think up quite ready yet to give up my PC. But I am definitely going to wait now till March for Elements 6

Still learning the ins and outs...always used a PC . Mine is a MacBook Pro which has been great for travel and hospital stays with my Dad. Very pleased and I don't think I'll be turning back any time soon

This is just fantastic!! I love it I was able to video chat with my friend this morning while having coffee. It's like having company without having to entertain!!!:)
I had my sister go on apple and take a look and she loved it and just ordered one. She lives in Ohio so we'll be able to video chat.
I have been thinking about getting my Mom a computer for a while now which was going to be a PC up until yesterday!! I think I'll be picking one up for her very soon. She has never used a computer but I think this would be much easier for her to learn. She'll have fun seeing my sister. Mom only lives about a mile from me but we'll all be able to video chat!!
I just cannot get myself off it!!! Fun Fun Fun--I can't wait for my boyfriend to see it tonight-he'll end up with one soon I bet! :)
