Does anyone have any suggestions about increasing the speed of the program when editing a movie..i.e. adding new audio tracks, moving clips etc. It seems to take forever for the program to "catch up".. Would using the hard drive for scratch discs really help? I am using a 3.2 megahertz processor with a 300gig internal harddrive and a 400 gig external hard drive. It is a very difficult challenge that I am sure all of you are having at times.

thanks

Jay

There are some very knowledgeable people who scan the Premiere thread and give a helping hand.

Have you tried asking your questions at the Adobe forum? There is an article there by Steve Grisetti on making a stress-free video project:

Steve and Chuck Engels have a website that is full of information. You can reach them here: http://muvipix.com/home.php

Good luck.

Best take further questions over to Premiere Elements Forum here after you read the the link provided.

When you do, please add as much details as possible, starting with what programs and versions are involved; a description of Premiere Elements Timeline content (video times, jpeg photos, how many/what pixel dimensions) and how it got there; etc.

You would appear to have enough free hard drive space, but not a word about RAM as well as operating system. Have you optimized your system; shutdown unnecessary programs running in the background? You get the idea.

Look forward to your reply.
