I read somewhere, might have been here on the forum, or in one of my books, that there is a technique for making a selection so that when you copy & paste it, there isnt a whitish "glow' around the edges.
Do you feather the selection?
or is it something totally different. I used this once, but cant remember where I saw it. Can anyone help? 8)

Hi there ...
You may be thinking of contract selection ..
What you do is make your selection and copy & paste it to its own layer
Then Select>Modify>Contract> .... choose by how many pixels
This removes the outer pixels and usually the white fringe too.
or Blur the border
Again make selection and copy & paste to its own layer
Then Select>Modify>Border ... choose by how many pixels
Then Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur
This blurs the edge and softens any fringing.
It could also be that you have read about the Photoshop defringe method which is matting ... but Elements doesn't have this feature (Unless PSE4 has it).
