Tried following the watercolor tutorial but I think I need to experiment more, it looks to light to me.

Yup ..I think a bit darker would be good. Try just changing the blend mode (if I am recalling the right tut:))
Or double up and multiply??

Does this look better?

Yes! Now all it needs is a little straightening of the horizon like you did the first time. Very nice rendition!

Don't know how I straightened it the first time, but I will go back and see what I can do.

Try using Filter>Correct Camera Distortion, which has a section for rotating the image in tenths of a degree. The Crop tool will also work, I believe.

Litespeed, I tried the Correct Camera Distortion filter on your photo and it needed just 2 degrees to straighten nicely.

I really love the watercolor effect you've created!

Very Nice.

A frame, even online, would really bring it out.

I definitely like the dark one. Great job
Straightened and a frame would finish it off.

There is a straighten tool that works pretty good. It looks like a tilted picture frame and it is right under the cookie cutter tool. Just play with it a little and you will see how it works.

If you want to show of the lines of the siding on the building I would try
Enhance> adjust lighting>shadows and highlights. try shadows around 25% and Darken Highlights about 50% and then -17 for midtone. Those adjustmens will bring out the lines of the photo and help darken it just a little. That is what I would do before I did the painting technique.

Thanks for all the tips, I will finish it up this afternoon and post the new picture.

I did the image again from stratch. The Enhancement feature didn't seem to make to much of a difference, but tell me what you think.
