Is anyone using PSE3 on a network? If so, any problem with saving .psd files out of the PSE to a network drive?
We have discovered that Adobe doesn't support this in PS7.0.1 and it requires another program (Creative Suite $999) to save files to a network out of PS CS. But I can't find anything regarding PSE.
Thank you.

Hi,
Not familiar with the problem. Adobe CS has a tool called Version Cue that is for file versioning and such.
Question though... can you just save the PSD file to your hard drive and then move it to the network. I'm not totally sure what you're trying to do. Are you just trying to save files to a network or do you actually need the versioning and "check in/check out" capabilities too?

I have used Photoshop Elements 3 Editor on a peer-to-peer Windows network without any problems other than being a little sluggish. The Organizer cannot sit on a network drive however. I have done some experimentation in which the network drive appears a the same drive letter to all of the systems on the network. As I recall it worked to some degree. Frankly, I have a large image collection (>50K images) so I use Extensis Portfolio 7.

Thanks for the replys...
I'm operating in a government/legal environment that does not allow files to be saved to local drives, only a shared network drive.
The powers that be think photo files should be treated exactly like word processing files, etc...

I see... that makes sense now. I'll keep checking to see if I can find anything to help out.
