I was watching Dave's video on edge effects and he states that PSE comes with textures preloaded. I opened my file according to his video and I cannot find any textures in the texture folder in PSE as a .psd file. Does anyone know if I have to do something different to load the textures, or does anyone know good sites to download free textures? Thanks for all your help!!

How about these:
Mayang's Free Texture Library (http://www.mayang.com/textures/)
Free Textures :: Free Textures from Texture King (http://www.textureking.com/index.php/)
Also this one of skies:
Sky Pics... (http://pics.skygaze.com/blue.shtml)
Enjoy!

Hi ...
If you look in your Adobe software folder under Presets>Textures you should find a mixture of jpgs and psd files in there.
All you need to do to use one of the jpgs is open it up in Elements then resave it as a psd file ... you will then be able to use it :)

Just played with this-I think it'll be a nice technique for scrapbooking-and it's quick and easy-
Thanks Dave...:)

I downloaded the textures from Free Textures from Texture King and put them in the Adobe Texture file on my C drive, but they are JPG files, not PSD. How do I convert them to PSD files so I can access them in my Layers Styles?

Hi ...
What you need to do is open them up in Elements and then just resave as a psd file :)
... do be careful how many you add as they really increase the time it takes to open up Elements :)

Hi Wendy-
After saving as .psd's, can these be stored elsewhere like brushes and loaded as needed?

Hi All,
I have Elements 2, and have been busily studying all the tutorials. However, I also cannot get the textures to come up. I did find them in the data files, and some are .psd files, but....how do I use them in a, say photo restoration where I want to use one of the textures as a new background? I cannot get them to show up.
Thanks,
kimmer
