So I've been a long time user of PSE, and have now been running version 4 for quite some time. I use it primarily for the organizer feature which I find works quite well for my needs. I don't know how I never noticed, but to my horror I discovered that adding a caption to a photo in PSE4 immediately writes to the EXIF portion of the file; whereas tags are only stored in the database unless you tell it to write to file or export the images.
Anyway, I checked that this feature appears to be the same in both version 5 and 6 with the default settings. Does anyone know of a way to set it so the data is NOT written immediately to the file?
I know this is the opposite of what most people ask for, but prefer to keep all of my photos "untouched"
