Hey everyone! I'm a new guy on this forum. I have been looking all over the place for an Elements forum, and finally found one. Just a little abckground info on myself, I am a 16 yr old student at Springford High School in Royersford, PA, and I am one of the top photographers and editors for the school newspaper. Thanks for accepting me into this community!

Hi Matt ...
I'm sure that you will enjoy this site ... there are great Videos, tutorials and all sorts of other things on the subscribers area. Plus there is the newsletter and online classes ... all in all a very good way to learn how to use Elements ....
... and then there is the forum. There is usually someone around who will talk you through any problems you have :)
Enjoy ...

Wecome Matt. You will have to meet Thomas. Up until now he has been our only teen member. There's lots to learn and I bet you will really be jazzing up your school newspaper in no time! After a little PSE time you will probably be a great asset to the yearbook club.

Hi Matt and welcome!
You will find lots of help here but let's see how familiar you are with some of the fundamentals. Are you comfortable with layers? That is the secret to EVERYTHING in Photoshop. There is a great free tutorial on layers on the homepage of this site. Once you start opening pictures and putting them on their own layer you will be off an running.
Let us know what we can do to help! :(

I don't have my own gallery as of yet, but I do post some of my better pics on some of the other forums I belong to. But some of these shots aren't really enhanced too much w/ Elements, but they look pretty good. Here's a link: http://www.dpforums.com/dpgallery/member.php?uid=1169
Hope you like them!

Hi Angela
Welcome to THE FORUMS.
I think most of us here (except Thomas) are a wee bit older than Matt.

I think we're close to the same age, or at least deckade and I sure don't feel like a teenager (nor do I want to be one!)

Well sooner or later I just knew that the subject of age would come up (again) ....
very interesting reading it makes. So is it true that the majority of people who use Elements are over 40

 Jodi. What a sense of humour. Okay 44. No biggie. Only a number which doesn't mean anything to me. When I do start to realize the years creeping up is when I see my kids that went to public school a few years ahead of my kids and they have graduated now! Or look at my nieces kids and think.....hey they sure are growing up.

All of you are still Youngin's.......Trying to keep up with the lot of you at 71 is a little difficult at times, but I'm doing my best to hang in there.
You do make a day of laughter for me on many occasions. Glad to be a part of this forum. It's definitely a lot of fun and very helpful.

Dorrie, I hope I'm just like you when I grow up. My Mom is 70 and she doesn't have a clue about computers. Her only hobby is doing puzzles. At least I know I won't be like her. I HAVE to be doing something creative.

Thanks Pauline & Gary
I have always tried to learn something new. It keeps the mind active. If it weren't for this computer and my woodworking, I'd be one lonely person. I'm definitely not ready for that Rocking Chair. :D :D

And that Dorrie is what will keep you feeling young and active!!
My Mother drives me crazy when she complains about being bored. I just want to yell at her, "then DO SOMETHING!". I have no patience for anyone complaining about boredom. There is just so many things that you can do, if you choose too and no one is ever to old to learn. You just have to have the will to try.

Dorrie ...
I just had to smile at your Rocking Chair comment ... all I could think of was that you are more likely to be making it rather than sitting in it :)

Sherry,
No hemming necessary, a 26" inseam. I second that on the Petite sizes.

Your sprite keeps me inspired. We're both strong.

love the warholian cats!! are you a cat lover? I am. My cat is a british blue name carly (after carly simon!!)

That is my cat, Mila Monster. She's 11 years old and is a grey tabby with lots of bracelets (stripes) on her legs. And quite spoiled.
The Warholian cat is a 16 shot buffer I almost threw away. After a second look though, I thought it would be fun to do the Warhol Effect and include the motion blur and yawn.
