its says to turn off norton anti virus system, but dont know how, help manual was no good, or was its web site.Any ideas would be appreciated.

I don't use Norton but if it's like most of them, you right click the Norton icon near your clock in the task bar and select disable .

Hi Susannah,

You need to do a little work if you have Norton 360, the current release. If you have older versions, there are simple ways of doing it. What version do you have? Here are the instructions for Norton 360:

You have to disable Firewall and Auto Protect.

To disable Firewall:

1/ Open Norton 360 from the icon in the "tray."
2/ Click Tasks & Settings.
3/ Click Change Advanced Settings.
4/ Click Firewall Protection Settings.
5/ Click General Settings.
6/ Click General tab.
7/ Click Firewall: off.
8/ Select the duration and click OK.

To disable Auto Protect:

1/ From the same Norton 360 window.
2/ Click Tasks & Settings.
3/ Click Change Advanced Settings.
4/ Click Virus and Spyware protection settings.
5/ Under Automatic Protection settings uncheck Turn On Auto Protect.
