incompatible 4.0 with Vista

Now that ive lost yet ANOTHER computer (2 this month) im using a rental, windows vista, i keep getting incompatibility warnings about my 4.0 pse. It leads me to a site that says has an update, yet everytime i try to download the update, it says that "the update does not pertain to your system"....meanwhile, elements keeps freezing up and closing down...any advice?

I'm pretty sure that the update is for PSE5 only ... so it sounds like PSE4 isn't compatable with Vista.

Being a Mac user I'm not sure about that but hopefully one of the Windows users will be able to check that out for us :)

Wendy is right. That update is for PSE 5.0 -> 5.0.2, the Vista patch. Although some people have found that they can use 4.0, it is not recommended. I suggest you try to rent a machine that has XP or upgrade your PSE to 6.0. Either path will work.
