Hi:

I am interested in buying a copy of Premier Elements, but I want to make sure that it is compatible with my video camera and also to be sure that it has one of the effects that my daughter wants to be able to use.

I have a Sony Digital Handycam model: DCR-TRV250 NTSC. It records on D8 tapes. I have only a USB cable that came with it to connect to the computer. Can I capture from the camera with Premier Elements using that cable or do I have to purchase an i.Link cable? Does the i.Link cable also connect to USB port on the computer or something else?

My daughter likes the short clips that run in reverse that she has seen on DVDs made by her uncle on iMovie on his Mac computer (kids jumping into/out of the pool, etc.). Can I produce that effect on my PC with Adobe Primier Elements?

Thanks, Grant

I'll have to double check your camera or you can check it at the mothership site ( www.adobe.com) go to support/forums and check teh FAQ, I seem to remember something about sony cameras but I don't remember what.

Checked on your camera PRE supports several sony DCR TRV models but yours is not specifically listed, best bet would be to call Adobe CS and make sure yours will be ok.

iLink also known as firewire will need a firewire port in your PC, I bought a firewire card for my system with three ports for 30.00 at compusa. You will also need to make sure your camera has a firewire connection.

Install is a snap, just pop the case and stick the card in.

PRE 2.0 also supports USB 2.0

As far as the clip thing you can reverse them.

Let me double check that @ the office in the morning tho, I use about 4 different editing programs and I don't have 2.0 on my home machine.

I'll post the for sure for ya first thing in the morning :) and I'll see if I can double check your camera too.

Thanks for the info. I saw the firewire issue on the support forum so I will take care of that if I can verify with customer service that my camera will work.
