A little background on the photo. The sculptures are by David Adickes, a well-known Houston artist, and the image was taken yesterday at his studio in downtown Houston. The statues are 36 feet tall (please note the pickup truck at the base of one of them).

The subject? A rather famous rock group from the 60's, depicted during their psychedelic period. I think most of us above a certain age will recognize them rather quickly....:D

Sorry I couldn't get a better shot, but taking a photo above my head between strands of barbed wire on the top of a six-foot cyclone fence does have its challenges. I've had some fun, though, playing with various presets....hope everyone else can enjoy this one.

But then how do you get them to appear in your post? Do you insert them as a separate attachment?

oh sorry, I use a screen capture program (ScreenHunter 4.0) & add it as a separate attachment using photobucket.

Wow, 36' tall, I was wondering what the "toy" truck was doing there. Have to go and stare at the photo again now I understand the perspective.

Just to show you how chaotic the artist's storage yard is, here's a view that shows the Houston skyline in the background, the Beatles in the midzone, and the heads of the US Presidents (I think about 15 feet tall) in the foreground. Quite an unusual place!

Hey, Chuck. Can you name the pictured presidents?

Uh, oh....a test! Well, the ones whose faces are showing, left to right, are Eisenhower, Johnson, Clinton, and - I think - Martin Van Buren. I believe the one in the foreground with his back to me might have been George H.W. Bush, but I don't recall.

Lest anyone try to make any rhyme or reason out of this display, here's a little broader view to show you who's 'on stage' with the Beatles....:D!
