Yes, posts do show up right away. Do you mean that you create a post, click on "Submit Reply" and you don't see your post in the thread? That seems very odd...

I'm not aware of any issues causing a post lag. They are immediate. I did notice the post time is off by about 10 minutes. Have you checked your time setting in your user preferences? Perhaps it is displaying a different time zone for you than what you are in.
