Can someone tell me how to do a dark border with the feathering around it? That is such a neat application.

I'm not quite sure what you are looking for. Something like this? I hope you don't mind me using your image...

That effect is sometimes called a vignette. Here's a link (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33525&highlight=vignette) to another thread and the last entry is a tut from Butch.

Dave,
I increased the canvas size, selected the actual image and placed a stroke on the outside, on a new, blank layer. Applied a Bevel Layer Style to the stoke. Next I selected a rectangle just outside of the stroked area, modified it to Border and filled it with the same color as the stroke, again on a new layer. Applied a Bevel to it, too.

Jurgen can you explain that again in some simpler terms. That was way over my head.

Dave,
Maybe you are unfamiliar with some of the terms. A stroke is an outline. You can use it after you draw a rectangle with the Rectangular Marquee Tool. You'll have a rectangle of "marching ants" on your image, which you stroke (>Edit >Stroke) with a certain amount of pixels, depending on how thick the outline is supposed to be.
Once the outline is in place, on a new layer, you can apply a Layer Style to that layer. You do that by going to Artwork and Effects >Special Effects >Layer Styles, where you select Bevels.
The Border effect can be gotten by again drawing a rectangle and then going to >Select >Modify >Border and entering a number for pixels. You'll have two lines of "marching ants" now. While the selection is still active (the ants are marching), you can go to >Edit >Fill Selection, using a color of your choice.
I hope this clarifies it some for you.
