African Violets Anyone?

Bet a lot of you have some really nice violets at home that get overlooked in favor of more exotic subject matter. These violets that I shot this morning, so I could sit on the couch and watch 7 hours of football, really brighten up a dark winter day - give them a shot.

This is a great shot. I love African violets and have several on my window sill. I'll have to get busy and get some pictures when they are in bloom again.

Beautiful shot. My father-in-law used to raise african violets and he finally tired of it and offered his "collection" to my husband. He took it and next thing I knew we had four 4x8 foot plywood tables full of dozens of different varieties in our basement with grow lights and I was spending hours every week watering and caring for those things. It didn't take me long to tire of it and when I told him HE had to start taking care of them they suddenly began disappearing quickly. :D Everyone we knew had african violets.

That's a beautiful photo , Ron. In addition to your photography skills, you must have a green thumb (which I admire because I definitely do not!).
