Saving Textures

How is it possible to save a texture downloaded from the internet ?
Do you put it in a folder ??

What I have done with textures that I later wish to apply to a photo or scrapbook paper is this.
Bring it into elements, then save it as a psd file.
When I wish to use it...filter >texture >texturizer...and then the little rt. triangle.(load textures) find where it was located and then click ok.
Once it is applied, adjustments in the opacity my be necessary.
