hi, i need some help. i have a lot of articles from newspapers and from magazines, and i scan it with photoshop cs2, but i have some problems when i save it because i dont know about the resolution. i will like to save them as .pdf but the document is too heavy. and i will like to know how to make color correction because the paper is not too bright.

Hi Carla,
What purpose are you scanning the newspaper and magazine articles for? It may make a difference at what resolution you need. Are you going to be printing them, emailing them, or just storing them on your computer for viewing?
Does your scanner have a setting for descreening. If it does, use that setting for scanning newspapers & magazines, it gives a better quality scan.

... and welcome to the Village :)
A method I have used for brightening the paper is to use Select>Colour Range to select the paper (but not the text) then with the selection still active do Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Levels.
... and lighten the background of the paper that way :)
