I am trying to learn to do the "puzzle" effect from the video tutorial from the subscriber page.. when I get to the part of the video that has selecting different parts of the puzzle (that you want moved or removed) with the majic wand tool, I have my tolerance set at 3 like the video show but when I shift & click on pieces of the puzzle...it still chooses all the poieces... I also have my contiguous box checked... can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Thanx
Denise

Hi Denise ...

Actually quite a lot of people did have problems with this ... you need to click in the middle of the piece otherwise it can select too much :)

I too am having problems with this tutorial. I have my settings exactly the same as the instructions but my Magic Wand is only selecting tiny bits even if I turn up the tolerance to 20:confused::confused::confused:

Sue...this is what I found I that helped me... when you get to the screen/step that has the GRAY puzzle pieces, make sure you choose "LIGHT TO THE TOP RIGHT" on the right where is has the scaling & relief..
I also kept my scaling at 125 and relief to 12 as in the tut...

Try this and let me know if it helps..I hope I have the right fix for the problem....

Hi Denise, I have followed it to the letter but my Magic Wand tool is not behaving like it should:confused:. I have reset it twice but if I only have 3 pixels set it just picks out a tiny tiny spot. I have had to use the Selection Brush - which works - just not as easy. I still get the end result which is nice.:)

Here is my try at the puzzle. My take on this was that if you had a big size picture, the puzzle pieces would appear small. Also I had to change the tolerance to 5 or 6 to get a piece selected.

I just adjust my puzzle pieces during one of the steps in the tutorial .. I'm not sure it has anything to do with the size of the file does it?? I got it figured out now though.. LOL whewwww...
