Hey everyone, i'm extremely new to this (as in, just started yesterday) and I am working on my first digi scrapbook page. Anyway, I have a picture, and I have a circle picture frame, and I am trying to get the photo to fit right in the frame. I have no idea how to do this, and I have 4 corners sticking out of the cirlce frame. Any tips would be great! Thanks!!

First select your photo using any of the selection tools.
go to Edit>Copy

Then with the magic wand or other tool select the inside of your frame
go to Edit>Paste Into

The photo should appear inside the frame. At this time you can scale it to fit as you would like.

Ok, that makes sense, but when I select my photo (its in my main window) it does not allow me to copy it. It doesn't allow me to copy it when its in my bin either... Im using Elements 6.0, if that makes any difference...

When one refers to selecting it doesn’t just mean having the photo open on your desk top. You have to select the photo or the part of the photo you wish to use.
Using the “Rectangular Marquee” tool drag it from the upper left corner of the photo to the lower right corner.
You now get a dotted animated outline (some refer to it as marching ants).
go to Edit>Copy

Now open your frame and do the same type of selecting on the inside of the frame. For one color large flat areas you can use the “Magic Wand” or the “Rectangular Marquee”
go to Edit>Paste Into

Hope this helps.

Ok, I used the rectangle marque tool to outline my picture, then went to Edit > Copy

The frame I want to fit it in is round, so I went to the magic wand, and tried outlining the inside of my frame. It did not allow me to do this, as it just created "marching ants" along the border of my entire page. So just to see what would happen, I went to Edit > Past into selection
And the only thing that happened was my "marching ants" appeared in the middle of the page, in a rectangle shape. (the same shape that I first outlined my picture.) Not sure what I am doing wrong...

Is there more than one layer in your frame image? If so, you may not be on the layer with the actual frame.

Or, perhaps the tolerance setting in the Magic Wand options bar is set too low.

Those are a couple of reasons I can think of where you might get the MW to select the whole image, rather than the color you are clicking on.

It might help if you posted your frame image so we can see what it looks like. If you don't have another method of posting your image, you can use Pixentral, with these instructions:

I doesn't matter what shape frame you have.
As Diana pointed out perhaps your on the wrong layer or your magic wand tolerance is set too high and selecting more than the inside of the frame.
Her suggestion to post it is advisable rather than us guessing what you have.
Pixentral is an easy way of posting.
Save your file as a JPEG, keep it well under 1MB. When you upload it to Pixentral your photo will appear. The last link line next to Forum is the link you should copy and paste into you elements post. To highlite it put your cursor at the beginning and while holding down the mouse drag it to the right until you've grabbed the entire link.
Copy the link and paste it into your post.
You will be able to get easy to follow help to solve your problem.
