Carol and Kathy,
Thanks for the comments! To do it each piece of the photo is just a rectangular selection. I made 2 duplicate layers of each selection. I then filled the bottom selection layer with black, applied a gaussian blur of about 30. Then used free transform on the shadow to made it a touch larger. On the photographic selections I then used adjust color -Hue and saturation to colorize the selections to different tones different tones. I did the middle selection first so that the other selection layers came under it. Then I pasted it onto a black background and applied a white stroke layer around the photo. I think thats everything. I was playing around and liked the way it turned out. Thanks again.

Very nice indeed. :)
It would be a wonderful tutorial/project..thanks for the directions. Simple enough to do with very dramatic results.
Did you use the hue /sat adjustment layer for the selection colour change?

Sorry if I'm totally dense (my wife will vouch for it :) ) but what directions are you talking about? I would love to see them.

Michael,
The directions are in the third post from the top in this thread. They're in paragraph form not step 1, 2 etc. If you have questions just ask? Thanks again
