Hello: I've had an interest in photography for most of my life and I've dabbled in producing video news releases for work. Early on, I worked in news.

My interest in this stuff is to make family documentaries first. I gave one of my 12-year old twins a Sony digital camera which he uses to shoot short snippets of video about him and his friends just horsing around. These are delightful in that they capture their exuberent boyish playfulness.

I also want to make some interviews with older family members...memories about their youth, crises that defined them, the wars they fought, married life, their hopes for their children, and what became of their dreams. Things we can pass on to my kids.

When I have my technical skills sufficiently honed, I want to make tendentious little social commentaries to post on places like YouTube.

Hello and welcome to the forum. That sounds like a wonderful project you have set up. There should be plenty of help around if you get stuck.
