I have a 4.0 GB Sandisk SDHC card and a Sandisk Ultra II 2.0 GB SD card and I have "tested" them for write speed in clearing the camera buffer following burst shooting with the Nikon D80. I find that using the 4.0 GB card I can fire 5 shots in a burst before the buffer fills and with the 2.0 GB Ultra II card I can fire 6 before filling the buffer.
I recognize that these cards are different densities (SD vs SDHC), and this factor may make a difference. At any rate, this seems like a very small increase for the Ultra II card, and I wonder whether I should expect any significant increase in number of shots in the burst if I used an Extreme III card or another of the "super fast" SD or SDHC cards.
What does your experience show?
Thanks,
Tom
