I am not sure what the purpose of the demonstration was about in this lesson?

After the explanation of sizing and resolution the instructor went into a short demo of "cropping" ( I guess it was) and simply changed one side of the image to 98% - not really sure what this was supposed to accomplish!

I know how to crop - not sure what this was all about.

Anyone know what the reason for this was supposed to accomplish?

Hi Bill - he explained this shortly after the course first started in a separate thread. It is a way to bring in the sides of the photo and it makes everyone just a tad thinner. :)

Thanks Mary - I could use some of that "thinner" stuff for sure!

Now I can make myself look like a hunk!

The two topics were independent of each other: first discussing the importance of having high enough resolution, and then a quick technique to make people look a little thinner.
