1. PSE 6 brush palette has black on grey brushes--very difficult to see. It needs to be black on white like the shapes palette.

2. I'd like a keystroke short cut for cropping. If there is one it doesn't show in the drop down menu where cropping is located (under Image).

3. It would be a huge help if the Organizer allowed me to choose which catalog I want to open when I open it. I have three catalogs and it always opens the one I had opened last which isn't always the one I want. I have to wait while it loads the unwanted catalog then I have to choose the catalog I want and wait for it to load.

4. When I save a document in PSE 6 and say save it to the Organizer I'd like it to ask me which catalog I want it added to.

That's all I can think of at the moment. I do love the program despite these minor issues.

I can maybe help on 1 and 2. If you click on the little double arrow (see image below) and select stroke thumbnail you'll get a black on white representation of the brush. That's a lot easier to see and it's the one I use. Also waving your mouse cursor over the brush shows a pop-up of which brush is which.

The shortcut C will open the crop tool, click and drag to crop. The one under the Image menu is for cropping selections made with the Marquee tool and as far as I know doesn't have a shortcut. I usually use the crop tool for cropping.

I appreciate your suggestions. The C for crop is what I was looking for. I wonder why it doesn't show that in the drop down menu? I wonder how well known that is? I've taken adult school classes in PSE and it was not mentioned (that I remember). I am grateful that you did though--thanks!

I'm aware of the alternate method of viewing the brushes but many brushes are unrecognizable in that view--to me at least. Look at the Special Effects brushes in that view--few are discernible. Now if the little box to the left of the stroke was black on white we'd be in business :).

Thanks again, Tony!

Hi Tony,

What I wanted was a shortcut to allow cropping a selection. This allows one to make shapes other than just rectangles and crop to that shape. I remember now that the instructor of my class suggested not using the crop tool from the tool bar because of it's shape limitation. That's probably why I didn't know the "C" shortcut--we didn't use that tool.

If you know a shortcut to do that I'd appreciate knowing it.

Thanks!

I don't know of a shortcut and you'll still have a shape limitation if you use that method. You can still only crop to a rectangle - select a circle and crop the selection and you'll get a square with the circle inside.

Oops, again! I should have done my homework rather than writing from memory--which I've showed (repeatedly) doesn't work.

Thank you for your time.
