I have downloaded one or two brushes that use foreground and background colours together. Can I make this type in PSE5 and if so how?

Hi Sue,
Have you put them in here, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5\Presets\Brushes ?
It should work, create a new white file, you'll need to set background / foreground colours, at least one of them to something other than white.
With your brush selected goto the more options brush click on the brush, its above you palettes on the right, and play with the sliders.

Hi Sue ...
Elements can use these type of brushes but cannot create them .. you need Photoshop to do that :)

Where did you find those brushes, they sound interesting. I have those that do one color but not two. Can you share where you found them?

I'm really sorry but I can't remember where it's from. It's name is US-01.abr.
I have checked the proerties but it gives no more information. I have been downloading a lot of brushes recently, some from Adobe Exchange, Obsidian Dawn and some from Diana's long list.:)

You can bump up your hue jitter and get a very nice effect with 2 colors.:)
Here is a soft edge brush at about 22% opacity with the colors red and green picked. I ran around the edges twice. Makes a nice and simple background.

Tina, try the Special Effect brushes, which I believe came with Elements. The first brush (flower) and the last brush (butterfly) have the 2-colors built in if you set 2 different colors for F and B, then drag around with the brush.

Kimi,
What do you mean by "I ran around the edges twice"? I have not heard that before.

Kim... I had a big soft brush, started at the top and kind of pulled the brush around the entire page then made it smaller and took it along just the sides to get a burned look. (half on and half off the paper)
under more options in your brush palette. I had my hue jitter up to around 85% and my brush opacity at 22%.
does that help?

Kimi,
Thanks for the answer, it sounds like something I will have to really practice until I understand it. I like challenges.
I will get to it after the holidays now, thanks again,
Kimmer
