Hi everyone.
I've read and been a part of this forum for sometime now, but this is my first post.
I haven't had to post anything because I've learned so much just from reading.
Anyway......
What are the reasons for having Photoshop and Illustrator?
I know what Photoshop and Elements can do.
What does Illustrator do that Photoshop doesn't.

Well I don't know the long of it but I think Illustrator is geared more toward vector based graphics. I've tried a couple of things in it and just sort of decided it was more than I cared to bother learning right now.

Glad you came and joined us.

Illustrator is a vector drawing program. The art is mathematically done so that what you do in illustrator can be blown up to any size and still look just as crisp. If, however you did this will photoshop you would end up with pixilated work if you enlarged it too much.

You are right Nancy there is a lot to learning the program and that's what I've been busy doing. Feel like I've barely touched the surface! Santa gave me two illustrator books for Christmas and I'm working through the Lynda.com video training.
