Hi all -- I'm new in this forum, and I'm desperately hoping for a solution! I am using Elements 5.0, and I'm not sure what the issue is -- if it's a memory issue, or what, but even when I have my "Snap to" Grids and Guides disabled (unchecked), when I'm trying to make small movements with an item, it is still seeming like it's snapping to something -- instead of a small nudge w/ my mouse, it's a "snap" motion. HELP!! Someone, please! I am at my wits' end with this... is there anyone who has had a similar experience, or has an idea of what is happening here? Thank you so very much!

small nudges are hard to accomplish unless you do one of two things

1. get really close up to the thing you want to move - make it really large and move with the mouse

or (and I prefer this way)

2. select the move tool and then use the arrow keys to nudge the item

I agree - zooming up close is a good way to do small adjustments -- I appreciate the advice, because it does seem to help if I zoom up close enough. I'm just curious to the reason moving an element seems so choppy when I'm not zoomed up so close -- it truly does seem like it's snapping to my other elements on the page, or a grid that isn't there. Is there an option somewhere that I'm missing that says "snap to previous elements" or something to that effect? Would not having enough memory (internal OR hard drive) cause this to happen?

Thanks! Joann
