I get the following error messages when opening PE6 in Vista.
'Could not load Fast core Routines Module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop'
'Could not load MMX Core Routines Module because it does not work with this version of Photoshop'.
Clicking OK to both these then opens PS Elements.
Anyone know what these messages mean and how I can get rid of them please?
Brianbar.

|Hi Brian ...

Did you disable your virus software when you did the install ?

Not a vista user but, I seem to recall some discussion around having to be in admin mode (or something like that) to have the install go smooth.

Did you have any other Elements versions installed before this one?

Yes I'm always in Admin Mode and I have V3 installed.
Virus (McAfee) not disabled.
I suppose I'm going to have to unistall/reinstall PE6!

I read that it could be a plugin problem. Did you have PSE3 plugins installed? Did you move/copy these to the PSE6 plugin folder (assuming PSE3 uses a different folder for plugins)? Or are you using a common plugin folder?

Read here (related to CS, but could be your problem):

Yes, it was a plug-in problem! Cured by uninstalling/reinstalling.
thanks for all your help.
Brian.
