Can't read my screen

I just installed PSE6 and compared to PSE5, I can't see much with the black background which makes it hard for me to navigate. Is there antway to change this screen so that I can see more clearly ?

Unfortunately, this is a frequently asked question with no good answer: There is no way to change the color scheme of PSE 6.

However, some have found that if you adjust the brightness and contrast of your display, that can help readability. Others, including me, have found that calibrating the display with an inexpensive calibrator like the Spyder2 Express have also helped; however, others have reported that calibration hasn't helped readability.
