Can't see Special Effect???

I am using PE5 with Vista and have not had any problem with doing a Drop Shadow. Today I tried to do a Outer Glow, trying several different ones and it tells me it has to be on a layer. I duplicate the Background Layer and the little icon works to say it's done but I see nothing :eek:

Any thoughts???

Hi there.
You dont say what version you are using , however once you have applied the effect, if you look in the layers box right hand side , you will see a symbol to the right of new layer
of the layer ... simply double click on this. and this then opens up a consol box where you have control as to how much of an effect is seen etc
and the size and colour etc..

hopefully you will sort it soon

The glows are a bit weird.

I was trying to put a "glow" that was a darker colour around an object and it wasn't working. Once I changed the glow colour to white (or off white) it worked fine.
I tried different colours, some worked and some didn't. :confused:

Thanks Gary, I haven't been able to get back to it but will tomorrow. I may even be trying the wrong thing ... I just wanted a little feathering around my Christmas photos. I haven't had a chance to learn all the features of PE5 and now I have 6 to learn :eek:
