I have been using an Epson R1800 with Canon's DPP with good results. I just purchased Adobe PS Elements 6. I can not get correct colors to print on the 1800 if I allow PSE6 to control the colors no matter what icc file I use. I get prints that are too dark and or off color. If I turn off the color control in PSE6 and turn it on in the epson driver all is well but not visa versa. One of the reasons I got PSE6 was for additional printer control. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way to use this printer/software package? The young lady at Adobe help says that PSE6 can not control the R1800. Can this be true?

Don't have an R1800 and I'm not sure what the lady at Adobe was on about but, assuming your monitor is reasonably well calibrated then it should work either by letting the Printer manage color or Elements manage color. The usual problem is doing both at the same time.
If you have the right ICC profile selected (it should be something like SPR1800 Premium Glossy for Epson Premium Glossy paper), and you are using that paper and you have turned off Color Management in the Printer Driver then it should come out the way you want.

Thank you Tony,
I thought I did try that but I will give it another go as soon as I get some more ink.
Would it be possible for you to provide a screen shot of the printing set up screens you use in PSE6?

Mike: here's what my screens look like when I'm printing 4x6 borderless from the PSE6 Editor. Note I'm using the sRGB color space and an Epson R300 printer with Epson Premium Glossy Paper - so the Printer Profile I use is SPR300 Premium Glossy. Not sure what the Printer Preferences screen looks like for the R1800 but the one shown here is the Advanced section of the one I get with the R300 - I have the settings for 4x6 borderless saved so I can call them up when I want. The key is having the ICM box and No Color Management checked. These settings give me prints that are very close to what I see on the screen. Note that the Print Preview that the Epson printer shows (if you check that box) will look awful but don't worry the print comes out fine.
