I have PSE 6.

I'm trying to create a composite of two photo's. Background scene is from a vacation photo and foreground (overlay) is a couple and Xmas tree.

I've created the background layer and have the layer with the couple and tree. My problem is the couple and tree are too big and I would like to shrink the image size of that layer. I just need to make that portion (people and tree) proportionally smaller and leave the background alone. Hope this makes sense.

I've tried reading the help file and looking it up in a book I just received (Photoshop Elements 6 - The missing manual) and I either can't find out how, or I'm being a little dense.:o

Help....please;)

Oops...never mind, I found the answer (just new user not yet knowing where to look)

Make your your Move tool is activated (click V on your keyboard if necessary). Select the layer with the people (click on it, and make sure it's targeted in the palette). You should see a bounding box with dashed lines, and square handles in each of the four corners. There will also be handles at the mid points of the height and width.

Position your mouse over one of the corner handles, then click and drag the handle toward the middle of your layer. Dragging up and left makes the image smaller; dragging down and right makes it larger. Release the mouse when you have the right size.

If you goof up, you can use the UNDO key on the menu to fix your mistake.

Good luck!
