Thanks, Nancy. This was hard, because I really only had a couple of images to work with! I made a couple of corrections after I posted, which always seems to happen with me! I really need to learn how to "walk away" from a project! It's soooo hard!
Thanks again, Nancy!

Thanks, everyone, for the compliments. I backed up the photos last night and I'm taking them to the lab today. I have stepped away from the computer with these!
Instructions for Susan:
Step 1: Open photo you wish to apply the effect.
Step 2: Go to layers palette and add a new layer right above your photo by clicking Create a New Layer icon.
Step 3: Press the letter D to set your foreground color to black, then fill your new layer with black by pressing Alt-backspace.
Step 4: Press M to get the rectangular marquee tool and drag a selection about 1 inch inside the edges of your photos. Then to soften the edges of your selection, go under the Select menu and choose Feather. When the dialog appears, enter an amount of pixels....you have to play with this to get the right number. For my picture, I used 150 pixels.
Step 5: Now that your edges have been softened, hit Backspace and you'll have your effect. Hit Control D to deselect. You may have to make adjustments to the black layer by decreasing your opacity on the black layer. I lowered my to about 60 percent.
Good luck.

They both look great. I like the burned edges that you added-they really enhance the photos.

I'm with Martha. Beautiful pictures and even more so with the vignette effect.
